In compliance with Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1377 of 2013 and related data-protection regulations (Habeas Data), Dr. William Alberto Baquero Iguarán (the "Data Controller") provides this policy governing information collected through williambaquero.com and the William Baquero MD patient mobile app.
1. Data Controller

2. Data we collect
- Identification and contact data: name, age, country of residence, phone/WhatsApp and email.
- Sensitive health data: cancer diagnosis, medical history, medical studies (biopsy, PET-CT, CT, MRI, reports) and other clinical information you voluntarily share for your assessment.
- Virtual-assistant conversations: the messages you type in the site chat are stored securely to follow up on your request and to improve the quality of the assistant's information. They are for the practice's internal use only and are not shared with third parties.
- Mobile app data: if you are a patient of the practice and use the William Baquero MD app, we also process your patient account data, your appointments, the secure messages you exchange with the practice, your medical record, the daily symptom log you choose to report, the medical documents you upload and, if you enable notifications, a technical identifier of your device.
- Technical data: IP address and browsing data for security and statistical purposes.
3. Purpose
- To handle your assessment or second-opinion request and to contact you.
- To allow the doctor to review your clinical case and prepare the consultation.
- To support information organization via an AI-assisted summary, for the doctor's internal use only (it is not a diagnosis).
- To comply with applicable legal and medical-record obligations.
4. Consent for sensitive data
Health data is sensitive data. By submitting the form and attaching studies you freely, expressly and on an informed basis authorize its processing for the purposes described here. You are not required to authorize the processing of sensitive data and may decline to answer any question.
5. Your rights
As the data owner you may: access, update and correct your data; request proof of authorization; be informed of how your data is used; file complaints with the SIC; revoke authorization; and request deletion of your data where no legal or contractual duty to retain it exists.
6. Exercising your rights
You may exercise your rights by writing to info@williambaquero.com or via WhatsApp at +573043685266. We respond to inquiries within 10 business days and to claims within 15 business days, as required by law.
7. Security and retention
We apply reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or use. Medical studies are stored in a restricted area outside the website's public access. Data is retained for as long as necessary for the stated purposes and per legal medical-record periods.
8. Transfers and processors
For appointment management and to operate the mobile app we use medical-software platforms (e.g., the Citalo system, on which the William Baquero MD app runs) acting as data processors under confidentiality measures. We do not sell or trade your personal data.

This policy may be updated. The current version will always be available on this page.
