I am Dr. William Baquero, a specialist physician in radiation oncology in Barranquilla and Santa Marta. I earned my medical and surgical degree from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla and completed my specialization in radiation oncology at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have extensive experience in advanced cancer treatment techniques, including 2D radiotherapy, 3D conformal radiotherapy, electron therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and high-dose-rate brachytherapy. I also trained in new radiotherapy techniques at the Clínica Alemana in Santiago, Chile, allowing me to offer my patients innovative treatments backed by the highest technology. My commitment is to provide comprehensive, professional, and compassionate care, accompanying each patient through their journey.

Juan David's story: a keloid scar on the chest
This is Juan David's story.
Because of the sport he played for many years and the constant tension on the skin of his chest, Juanda developed two keloid scars on the upper front of the chest, which caused intense itching, pain and a great deal of discomfort.
After being assessed by plastic surgery, the decision was made to resect the upper scar, which was the larger of the two; the second will be treated later. After the surgery he received electron beam radiation therapy over three consecutive sessions, started within the first 24 hours after the operation.
Today, four months after the resection, Juanda came back to our clinic. The scar is flat, with slight redness, no signs of hypertrophy and an excellent recovery. He no longer has itching or pain, and he is very happy with the results.
